Sustainability Certification through Svensk Certifiering Norden AB

As a certification body, we have extensive experience in sustainability work. A sustainability certification is based on social, environmental, and economic sustainability, which are integrated with each other.

We were early in developing a sustainability policy and a standard based on ISO 26000, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 (the predecessor OHSAS 18001). However, the market was not yet ready for sustainability certification at that time.

Just as with the ISO 27001 standard for information security, where demand took nearly 20 years to grow, we are now seeing a significant increase in the demand for a sustainability standard.

When you become sustainability certified with us, you receive an “all-inclusive” product — meaning you get environmental, occupational health and safety, and social responsibility integrated into one solution. These three areas of sustainability are therefore fully connected.

The following certification options are available:

Sustainability Certification – Environmental Certification

By achieving sustainability certification through us, your organization receives recognition for continuously managing the following areas:

Social, environmental, and economic sustainability — meaning equal living conditions, anti-corruption efforts, reduced climate impact and resource use, and a long-term profitable economic strategy for the organization, along with active risk management.

The organization must manage risks to ensure resilience and the ability to adapt, recover, and continue developing in situations such as climate change.

Organizations aiming to become certified in sustainability should begin with a baseline analysis to determine what sustainability means for the organization and which sustainability definition they wish to apply.

The UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals provide an excellent starting point and can serve as valuable guidance. Today, several certifications incorporate and build upon these goals.
